An Incredible Week at the Association for Literature and the Environment Conference!

I had the great honor  of presenting at the ASLE conference on a panel called, “Poets and Writers Speak: Readying for the End of the World” alongside novelist Harold Abrahmowtiz, poet Yvonne Reddick, and visual artist Fereshteh Toosi.

It was an affirming experience to hear each panelist share their work and discuss how they are “readying for the end of the world” by defiantly pushing back against hopelessness and despair.

I have enjoyed tremendously the entire conference, attending panels on ecological grief, fires in western literature, writing for animals, destructing the nature/culture binary, and attending plenary session presentations by Nnedi Okorafor, Melissa K. Nelson, and Ursula K Heise.
